Talent Consulting Case Study – AIMIA

The Brief

True North were engaged by, AIMIA, the operators of Nectar the UK’s largest coalition loyalty programme and part of a $2 billion Canadian company, to implement a change programme across their recruitment function. AIMIA were going through a period of significant change and forecasting substantial growth and needed a recruitment and resourcing strategy to deliver the talent required to drive this.

In addition to the volume of hires, Aimia also wanted to improve service levels for both managers and candidates, with a focus to enhance the calibre of staff recruited along with a sustainable strategy to enhance the employment brand in the market place.

AIMIA also wanted to implement a technology platform to efficiently and transparently stream line the recruitment process.

The Challenge

As an ambitious organsiation working in an exceptionally dynamic marketplace AIMIA frequently needed to make quick decisions around investment and new product opportunities. Many of these had a significant impact on the people strategy and created an ever growing demand to attract new talent to the company. When it came to creating a flexible, responsive and cost effective recruitment and resourcing strategy, the fluid nature of the business and the unpredictable levels of demand required True North to create an agile, dynamic solution.

The Solution

After a thorough review and audit of the existing process and requirements, True North’s solution was to provide a full managed service partnership with Aimia, compromising of a dedicated on site recruitment team to drive the recruitment strategy, supported by flexible specialist solutions based at True North’s HQ. In addition to putting in place robust and measurable processes, True North implemented an Applicant tracking technology solution, streamlined the PSL process, reducing reliance on external agencies through implementing a varied sourcing mix and increase the awareness of the employer brand in the market as well as developing a talent banks for key functions and roles.

Whilst on site with AIMIA, True North hired over 600 people, achieving reductions in both cost and time to hire and exited the partnership leaving the foundations and structure for a robust in house recruitment model.
